Romans 11:25-32
Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew.
7 What then? What the people of Israel sought so earnestly they did not obtain. The elect among them did, but the others were hardened, 8 as it is written:
"God gave them a spirit of stupor,
eyes that could not see
and ears that could not hear,
Ingrafted Branches
11 Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious
13 I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry
18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in." 20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
All Israel Will Be Saved
25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, 26 and in this way[e<http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+11&version=NIV#fen-NIV-28236e>] all Israel will be saved. As it is written:
"The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
27 And this is[f<http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+11&version=NIV#fen-NIV-28237f>] my covenant with them
when I take away their sins."[g<http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+11&version=NIV#fen-NIV-28237g>]
28 As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, 29 for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable. 30 Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, 31 so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now[h<http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+11&version=NIV#fen-NIV-28241h>] receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you. 32 For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

memories
This morning I snoozed a bit longer than usual. Shannon was there between Suzi and I again. As usual, a need to relieve myself forced me out of bed. The bed was so nice and warm in the cold air. Tried hard to continue sleeping but Jethro insisted on demanding something while I was trying to sleep and the cat refused to stay off the bed.
Well, I had corn flakes and later Suzi boiled eggs and I made toast for it. We all had egg on toast and afterwards I made coffee.
We watched “SWITCH” (while the kids watched “Monster’s Inc.”); about the guy who is close friends with a girl, and the girl wants to have a child from a donor and is unaware the guy is in love with her and he accidentally swaps the donor sperm with his own in his drunk stupor.
She kept asking when I was going to visit my dad who was put in hospital yesterday on Millah’s birthday. I was keen to take it easy and go slow, enjoy the movie.
After the movie, Shez finally called to ask if she can bring the kids over, Suzi was very, very unhappy about that. So, I thought and thought and called my dad at the hospital. We chatted about how hard it is for us to learn from our mistakes. He said the chronic medication he was taking for his heart was lowering his blood pressure and after 5 years of taking it, was ruining his health. In the end He and Shez said they don’t want Bethany to wonder where he was, because it upsets her when he is ill or in hospital. I offered to fetch them, but for some reason they insisted. Suzi was so upset about this. That we argued and parted ways. I listened to music on my new Nokia X2 while she cleaned the yard and house.
I made some tea and lay on the trampoline while listening to Lark and Queen through faulty headphones that for some reason only played a part of the song (like the 1 side of the stereo track), so the song sounded totally different.
When Shez came she left pretty quickly because the Easter traffic was heavy and she wanted to get back in time for Hospital visitation time. Showed Shez the girl’s room and she chatted with Suzi before leaving
The kids and I looked at the birthday gifts Shez brought Millah and then we had toasted cheese and tomatoes.
Then the kids and I took the dogs to the country club for a walk in the forest. Jethro road his little red bike. We stopped in the trees while they played with sticks and then Shannon made a poo, so we had to take her to the dam to wash her since I didn’t have any toilet paper, but the water had receded so far, it was quite a long walk there and the kids stayed playing with sticks in the trees.
When we got back they bathed while I watched BBC’s “What makes a genius”.
We had a very cheesy pasta source together and then I typed this blog while they played.
I think so much of the day was wasted with our fighting. It’s funny how one just doesn’t have much going on when your closest partner is distant. One is suddenly more bored or less stimulated.
Then I sent this to the wrong blog which emailed it to a whole lot of people instead of here to my personal blog.
That’s the problem with having an alias for your own personal journal being too similar to an alias for a distribution email list! I’ve certainly fixed that to prevent future blunders.

POLICE DOG ( Priceless)
This is undoubtedly the most expressive picture I've ever seen of an animal
You can almost hear him say these words;
"You want me to do what?"
The look on this dog's face is priceless....
You Can kiss my ass, "I aint smellin' those!"

Recycling a blog to use the address for a new purpose, even data can be recycled, although I don’t think there’s any eco value to such effort, just sounds greener to say “recycle”…..hhhmmmm; “recycle, recycle, recycle!” – oh so satisfying…..

On March 19 2011 Earth's One And Only Natural Satellite Moon Is Going To Appear At Only A Distance Of 221,567 miles (356,577 kilometers) From Earth Which Would Takes Place Once In Every 20 years Known As "Lunar Perigee Or Supermoon";This Celestial Epic Phenomenon Was Already Witnessed By People In 1955, 1974, 1992 And 2005.Based On The Different Predictions And Conclusions By Different Astronomers It Said That This Supernatural Phenomenon Could Lead The Way To A Disastrous Events But Some Say That There Might Be Only Change In The Level Of Sea Tides Which Could Lead Only A Drastic Change in Climatic Conditions Of Coastal Areas.
The Moon's Gravity Can Cause Small But Measureable Ebbs And Flows In The Continents, Called "land tides" Or "solid Earth tides," Too. The Tides Are Greatest During Full And New Moons, when The Sun And Moon Are Aligned Either On The Same Or Opposite Sides Of The Earth.
While Hoping For A Non-Disastrous ‘Moon Giant’, Point Your Eyes And Camera Lenses Toward The Night Sky On 19th. If The Sky Is Clear, You’re Gonna Get An Exceptional Celestial Treat.

Staying young is 'mind over matter'
Staying young is ‘mind over matter’
March 3 2011 at 12:53pm

Research also shows that older mothers tend to age more slowly than those who give birth in their 20s.
Forget fad diets and expensive face creams. The key to looking young is to grow old disgracefully.
Those who think and dress in a youthful way are healthier than those who act their age, according to research.
Mind over matter, it seems, can improve everything from blood pressure to arthritis and eyesight.
Even the development of heart disease and cancer may, at least to a degree, be staved off by refusing to grow old.
The intriguing claims come from researchers at Harvard University, who reviewed a series of studies into how the mind influences the body.
In one experiment, elderly men were “transported” back to 1959 for a week. They lived in accommodation fitted out in the decor of the 50s, were played TV shows and music of the time and told to talk and act as if they were living then.
By the end of the week, the men were perceived to look about three years younger. Their hearing and eyesight improved, arthritic joints were more flexible, muscles were stronger and minds sharper.
The experiment echoes the recent TV series The Young Ones, in which celebrities including Lionel Blair and Dickie Bird spent a week in a house fitted out in the style of 1975 - when they were in their prime.
In the journal Perspectives on Psychological Science researcher Ellen Langer suggests that much of the decline of old age may be driven by negative perceptions about our later years - and breaking these down can improve one’s health.
A second study revealed that cutting and colouring women’s hair not only made them feel younger, but reduced their blood pressure.
Research also shows that older mothers tend to age more slowly than those who give birth in their 20s. While this may be partly due to having the money and know-how to look after themselves, they may also benefit from forming friendships with younger women at the school gates.
Similarly, someone with a young spouse may think and act young, to the benefit of their body.
Research also shows that wearing a uniform to work can slow down ageing - perhaps because it prevents more elderly staff from dressing according to their age.
Even prostate cancer and heart disease may be influenced by the mind, with studies finding that they are more prevalent in men who are prematurely aged by going bald early.
Langer suggests that simply thinking young can do the power of good. She advised people not to dwell on the ageing process, adding: “Don’t buy the mind-set in the first place, then you won’t be vulnerable to it.
“I think we have far more control over our health and wellbeing than most of us realise.”
Cary Cooper, professor of psychology and health at Lancaster University, added that youthful thinkers tended to exercise their bodies and brains more, boosting physical and psychological health. -Daily Mail

thought you might like this old FB conversation
Sean ; “it's thoroughly captivating; if God knows what you're going to choose, are you still free to choose? IE; Do you still have freedom of choice your decision is already known?” January 16 at 7:39pm Nelson likes this.
Richard If you really know your wife, and you offer her 2 ice-creams but you know which one she'll choose.. Does she really have a choice? Of course she does.. Just because you know what she'll pick, doesn't change that!
Sean Excellent illustration Richard! But, why would you offer her two, if you knew which one she would choose? Most likely you would just offer her the one she likes, removing the need for a choice...
Richard Well, would she appreciate it enough if I just gave her one, or if she could choose? Besides, people like having a choice and to be able to choose for ourselves, it makes it more personal.
Sean The sense of appreciation is an outstanding point actually.... Is there a difference between a freedom of choice and the illusion that there is a freedom to choose?
Richard There is no illusion, an illusion would be one ice-cream and a mirror.. 2 ice-creams is not an illusion of a choice.. Besides, you're over thinking it, when you offer your wife an ice-cream (choice of 2) and she picks one, does she sit and think through her choice (or lack thereof) or does she just enjoy the ice-cream?
But if you knew her favourite, the option of other choices.... might not really add to the appreciation of her favourite ice cream. ... Since it's her favourite she would appreciate it anyway. What if the option(ability) to choose creates an illusion (sense of appreciation you alluded to) that we're free to choose? Yes, it's true people like having a choice, but what if she knew every flavour of ice cream there ever was.... And after a while always chooses the same one, and every time u offer her a choice she chooses the same 1. What has happened to her freedom to choose?. Now 1 day u just offer her that 1 because u know she has always chosen it in the past....See More
Well for starters, there are a few differences here, 1. I am not God (thank goodness) 2. Choosing an ice-cream is a lot simpler than some of life's decisions and 3. God knows us much better than we know our wives.. You can also think of it ...as watching a reality show on telly for the second time.. You know what choices the people are going to make because you've seen it, but they are still making the choices for themselves. Remember, God is not bound by time like we are! All I can say is thank goodness He is God and not me, I'd be confused by now :-) I suppose if Jesus wanted us to understand this completely, he would have spelled it out for us in the bible. See More
Sean Again, your choice of illustration is really good. In this case since we're experimenting in thought with the idea of freedom, the actual choice is irrelevant, it could be the choice between saving 2 people...Freedom of choice is found in almost every page of our Holy Word, starting with 2 trees in the Garden of Eden...
Easter I feel the need to write this down. Best discussion I’ve read in a while:)
Sean Your reality TV illustration and the question of time is also a really good, one. It will take me a while to think of that in terms of freedom of choice and God's all knowingness....will get back to you (but don't hold your breath), hehehe. Tnx Easter
Richard I've actually been preparing a sermon on this, it's tough to get your mind around it, and when you do, it's equally as difficult to explain. It's good to have discussions like this, keeps you on top of things.. Glad you enjoyed it Easter..
Sean Cool. Me too. I do believe that at the end of the day, when all is said and done, and let's say life nears its end for an individual, at least then, they acknowledge life is indeed psychological and then become very philosophical or spiritual... (Generally)
Andrew This physical world is a classroom for the soul and already has a pre-set curriculum. It does not matter if God already knows the choices we make. The point is for us to learn in this classroom through the act of making choices and experiencing the consequences of our decisions. In this way our spirit is educated and grown to maturity.
